zacs:
I text this to my family yesterday a few hours after our arrival into Munich, Germany. I figure I could share it with everyone as well.
There is lots of green land and farming around us, as well as a railroad track which a train will pass by from time to time. We are showered and ready to rendezvous with some of the other crew of Americans that will be accompanying us for our tour here in Europe. I just wanted to let you know that I am safe, and excited to be here. In the poem, “The Laughing Heart” by Charles Bukowski, he encourages to,
“Be on the watch.
the gods will offer you chances.
know them.
take them.
you can’t beat death but
you can beat death in life, sometimes.”
I love you all and will try to keep in contact as much as I can. Auf wiedersehen.”
